Book 1 Chapter 1

The world was burning.

In front of a man with gray hair, a giant black dragon breathed heavily.

"Rysinas."

"Don't say it. I'll save you, I promise!"

Kyle gritted his teeth and used healing magic.

A massive magical energy surged.

However, the huge wound in the dragon's belly did not heal.

"Damn it! Damn it! I can't lose you too!"

"No… I was wrong, Kyle. So take my dragon heart and move forward."

"Hey, stop with that crazy talk and shut up!"

Kyle said gruffly.

"Arion and Luna! Don't die in vain like Dwenno! You're a dragon! Endure like the great race! You damn lizard!"

"Kyle… do you remember when we first met?"

He swallowed his breath.

Rysinas, with the same smile as that time, said:

"We will save the world."

"So we…"

"I'm sorry… for burdening you alone."

His eyelids slowly closed.

"…"

Looking at the black dragon that had stopped breathing, Kyle looked up at the gray sky.

Black rain began to fall.

A rain of death that gnawed away at life.

Proof that the world was heading towards destruction.

"Hahaha… damn it."

Kyle spat out a curse, unable to even think of taking shelter from the rain.

Kyle, who had dug into and taken out the heart of his comrade, turned his head.

In the distance, a burning tower could be seen.

"Erebos."

He spat out the enemy's name as if chewing on it.

"I will surely kill you. Even if I am the only one left."

The last great hero headed for the decisive battleground.

And… the world was saved by one man.

"Leo~ Mom will read you a fairy tale."

The mistress of the Flove family.

Reina Flove approached her son, who was only a month old, and said.

Watching her, Dayd Flove burst into laughter.

"Reina, you've already read that fairy tale over a hundred times? If you include the prenatal education, it must be over a thousand."

"But Dayd, this is a story about my favorite great heroes!"

Reina looked at her son, sleeping soundly in his cradle, with adoration.

"And Leo likes this fairy tale the best. He rejoices every time I read it to him!"

"Really?"

"Yes. Want to see?"

Reina approached the cradle and opened the fairy tale book.

"Leo~ Mom will read you the '[Heroes of the Beginning]' fairy tale.

Leo's eyes sprang open.

"Once upon a time, a long, long time ago. Specifically, 5000 years ago…"

"Abu! Avv! Addd!"

"See!"

"Haha, it's true!"

Dayd Flove looked surprised as he watched his son babbling and shaking his head.

Smiling sweetly, Reina continued reading the fairy tale.

Luna, the great elf mage.

Dwenno, the dwarf master smith.

Arion, the beast warrior.

And finally, Rysinas, the wise dragon.

"And so, the great heroes defeated the evil Erebos and peace came to the world. The end!"

"Abu! Agggg!"

Leo vigorously flailed his short arms and legs.

Looking at their son, the couple smiled with satisfaction.

Watching his doting parents, Leo shouted inwardly.

'Please stop reading that damn fairy tale!'

It would have been a surprise if the Flove couple had known.

Their newborn child already had such clear intentions!

But what was even more surprising was his identity.

Long ago, specifically 5000 years ago.

He was one of the great heroes who saved the world.

Kyle.

The man who subjugated Erebos, the primordial evil, and saved the world.

However, he was an unfortunate man forgotten by world history.
