Book 1 Chapter 581
581.
Eliza stayed up all night with Khal, gathering as much information as possible about the world of Lumerne she had just entered.
It was deep into the night, and she couldn't move from her room, but she was able to obtain more information than she expected.
‘First, it was fortunate that Clerie Jessian, whom Khal Thomas possessed, was the student council president.’
Clerie's room was filled with documents necessary for a student council president.
Through these documents, she was able to grasp, to some extent, the events unfolding within Lumerne at the current time.
‘From Rodia, the Dragon of Creation, to Seirune, the Comet Mage, Azonia, the Great Warrior, and Demian, the Indomitable…’
Prominent figures, considered successors to the great heroes, were gathered in Lumerne.
“If it’s such a big deal that the Heroes of Creation are gathering again, it should definitely be in my memory, but as far as I know, the Heroes of Creation have never all gathered in Lumerne.”
“Huh? Is that so?”
“You. Isn't it basic to know about the history of the school you attend?”
“It’s a bit strange to hear such a top student-like remark from your mouth.”
“Hmph. It’s basic. You’re knowledgeable about useless things, but ignorant about this?”
“Well, that’s true.”
Khal shrugged his shoulders.
“Anyway, after the recurrence of the disaster ended, it was extremely rare for the Heroes of Creation to gather in one place.”
Eliza fell into thought.
“The fact that such an important event happened at Lumerne Academy but didn’t remain in history… means that reason must be the core keyword for conquering the hero’s world.”
“Exactly.”
Eliza wore a satisfied expression.
She sat cross-legged on the bed and spoke.
“First, we need to figure out how many strategists there are.”
It was essential when caught in a hero dungeon.
“For now, all second-year Lumerne competitors must have entered this world.”
Eliza recalled what happened before entering the hero's world.
The area where the Lumerne students were waiting was definitely within the activation range.
“Not just us, but all the second-year students from other schools who were waiting to compete must have been caught up in it.”
“How do you know?”
“I checked right before.”
“You had time to check that in such an emergency?”
“Yes.”
“Hmm…”
Eliza squinted her eyes.
“You are certainly good at adapting to situations.”
“Oh? Are you complimenting me?”
“Did it sound like a compliment?”
Khal chuckled.
“Anyway, let’s get some sleep, even if it’s just a little.”
Khal checked the clock.
There was still a little time left to sleep.
Eliza nodded at his words and asked.
“Where are you going to sleep?”
“On the bed, of course. This is the room of the person I possessed.”
“Don't talk nonsense. The bed is my spot.”
“Should we sleep together?”
“Making such a crude joke, do you want to die?”
When Eliza asked in a cold voice, Khal smirked and lay down on the floor.
Eliza snorted, looking down at Khal, then lay on the bed and pulled up the blanket.
As Eliza turned her body away from Khal and tried to sleep, Khal asked.
“By the way, Eliza. How’s your training these days?”
“You didn’t care, and now you’re asking?”
Eliza snorted with her back turned.
“There’s no problem with training just because you’re not there. It’s going well. I’ve even gotten somewhat used to that damn pain.”
“Weren’t you used to pain long ago? You sometimes laughed like a madman?”
“Didn't I tell you not to mention that again?”
Eliza turned her body, looked down at Khal, and scrunched up her face.
Khal chuckled, looking at Eliza.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t pay attention. I was caught by Senior Elena and constantly exploited for labor. I wanted to help as much as possible, but it was impossible.”
Khal lay down, clasped his hands behind his head, and crossed his legs.
Looking at the ceiling, Khal mumbled.
“Well, you’ll do fine even without me.”
“If you know that so well, why did you offer to help without knowing your place?”
Eliza said irritably.
“You should have taken care of yourself instead of worrying about me. If you had, you might have improved your skills a bit and avoided expulsion.”
“Hmm. Strictly speaking, that’s not true.”
“Well, I guess so.”
“…Aren’t you admitting it too quickly?”
Khal, who let out a hollow laugh, said.
“I just wanted to help.”
“Why?”
“You weren’t yourself back then.”
“Huh?”
Eliza’s eyes widened slightly.
“The Eliza Hergen I know isn't someone who doubts her own potential.”
Khal smiled gently.
“She seems arrogant and looks down on others, but in fact, she's responsible and takes good care of those around her.”
Eliza is the leader of the second-year Summoning Department.
And the entire second-year Summoning Department follows her very closely.
If she were merely aloof and dismissive of others, it would be difficult to gain such popularity.
Since her admission, she had led the surrounding students, vowing to make the Summoning Department the top.
“When you hit a limit, you’ll overcome it by any means necessary. That kind of appearance suits you best. That’s why I wanted to help.”
Eliza looked at Khal with blank eyes.
After a moment, Eliza clenched her fist and said.
“Khal Thomas.”
“Yes?”
“I’m sorry for saying harsh words back then.”
“Oh, that? Don’t worry about it. I don’t care. It’s true, isn’t it?”
“It’s not true.”
Eliza tilted her head.
“No one among us doesn’t think you’re great. Especially, I received a lot of help from you. Even though I said that just now… I wouldn’t have been able to endure the training without your help.”
Eliza looked into Khal’s eyes.
Khal was flustered looking at Eliza.
“Hey, hey, why are you suddenly like this?”
“So don’t give up.”
“Huh?”
“You’re still very useful.”
“…”
Khal scratched his cheek.
Then he chuckled.
“I haven’t given up. I’ll struggle as much as I can. Well, I don't know if it'll work out or not.”
“Hmm?”
“If I get expelled, please don't treat me like a stranger. Connections are super important once you leave school.”
At his words, Eliza chuckled.
“If that’s what you’re worried about, how about we become friends?”
“Huh?”
Khal’s mouth dropped open.
“Consider it an honor. I, the successor of the Hergen family, am recognizing you, a mere commoner, as an equal.”
Khal scratched his head and grinned.
“It’s such an honor, I don’t know what to do with myself.”
“Yeah. Good that you know.”
Eliza snickered.
Khal looked at her with a surprised expression.
‘It feels a bit awkward when we’re speaking informally.’
“Since it's come to this, you must advance to third year.”
“I keep telling you that's not something that happens just by trying.”
Eliza glanced at him, then raised her head and rested her chin on her hand.
“For someone who said they haven’t given up, you’re pathetically unmotivated.”
“Well, if there are additional rewards or something, I might get motivated.”
“Pathetic.”
Eliza clicked her tongue.
Khal grinned slyly, looking at Eliza.
“If you're grateful for my help with your training, how about you grant me one wish if I become a third-year student, as a way to repay the favor? Who knows? It might give me a little more motivation.”
At his words, Eliza sat up.
Khal, who expected an immediate reprimand in response, yelped and cowered.
But the lashing he expected to come immediately didn't arrive.
“Alright.”
“Huh?”
Khal raised his head.
There was Eliza, sitting cross-legged, elbows on her knees, chin in her hand, smiling.
“I’ll grant you any one wish. So show a little more enthusiasm.”
“Really?”
Khal had a dumbfounded expression.
“A person from the Hergen family doesn't go back on their word.”
“Really? Really? You’ll follow whatever I ask?”
Khal eagerly grabbed Eliza’s hand and asked.
“You… what are you planning to make me do?”
Eliza asked with narrowed eyes, but Khal abruptly stood up.
“Good! I'll advance to the third year no matter what!”
Eliza, who had a dumbfounded expression at his reaction, looked down at the hand Khal had grabbed, then snickered.
“Well, conquering this hero’s world is the priority before that.”
Khal, who had been passionately fired up, said seriously.
“Yes, that’s right. I know the most basic strategy for possession-type worlds.”
“Of course.”
Khal smiled confidently.
“You have to act like the person you possessed. Well, Eliza. You have few clues, so you might not fully grasp the person you possessed, but I’ve already figured everything out.”
“Oh? How so?”
Eliza looked interested.
“Like the dorm supervisor’s reaction earlier, and the fact that Megin Shell, whom you possessed, is here in the middle of the night, even breaking school rules. And crucially…”
Khal opened the desk drawer, took out a small wooden box, and opened it.
He had found it while rummaging through the desk a little earlier.
Click-
When he opened the box, it was full of luxurious hairpins for women.
“They all seem to belong to different women, given the tendency to collect things like this.”
Khal clicked his tongue.
“This person is quite the womanizer.”
“Good deduction skills. So, can you play that person?”
“Why not?”
***
‘Yes, he’s doing well.’
Eliza smiled coldly.
‘If it’s a woman, he’ll try to flirt first, won’t he? A true calling.’
Clerie Jessian was the second prince of Jessian, a magical kingdom located in the center of the continent.
He was also a skilled individual, talented enough to become Lumerne’s first student council president.
A strong background and overwhelming skill.
Combined with his own personality, he was a Casanova who spread rumors.
Khal did his best to act like Clerie.
The more he did so, the more murderous Eliza’s eyes became.
‘I might die later if we’re alone.’
He was just doing his best at what he had to do!
It was at that moment Khal felt like crying.
“I heard rumors, but isn't he a completely horny colt?!”
A pathetic voice was heard from a distance.
An elf with her arms tightly crossed was approaching.
Seeing the elf approaching with her shoulders proudly straightened, the Lumerne female students around Khal started murmuring.
“It’s Seirune’s student council president.”
“What is it? Did she come to provoke us right before the exchange event?”
Khal narrowed his eyes, looking at Seirune’s student council president, Seira Tingel.
‘Seira Tingel. The Comet Mage. Seirune’s younger sister.’
She was also the de facto founder of the childless Tingel family.
“This colt! He has a very stupid face!”
The students murmured, looking at Seira, who was crossing her arms and shouting as if pathetic.
“Don’t you think Seirune’s student council president’s personality has changed a bit?”
“Yeah. Her way of speaking is rough. I heard she was an extremely dignified person.”
‘This guy… could it be…?’
It was when Khal looked at Seira, who had a vaguely familiar atmosphere, with a doubtful expression.
“Don’t you think so, Azonia-nim?”
“The beastfolk’s books are… more… in-interesting than I thought.”
“Nyaaaaaak! I told you not to do that with that face!”
“Hiiiik?!”
Seira lunged at Azonia.
Azonia looked scared, seeing Seira, who was running wild with a flushed face.
Seeing that, Eliza grasped the situation and covered her face.
Khal mumbled blankly.
‘Seira is Argo, and Azonia-nim is Eiran.’
