Book 1 Chapter 581

Eliza spent the night with Karl, gathering as much information as possible about the world of Lumern that she had entered.

Although it was deep night and she couldn't move around the room, she was able to obtain more information than she expected.

"First of all, it was fortunate that Kal Thomas had possessed Cleric Jessieang, who was the student council president."

Cleric's room was full of documents required of the student council president.

Through those documents, she was able to grasp the events currently unfolding within Lumern to some extent.

"Starting with Rodia, the Dragon of Genesis, followed by Seirun, the Mage of the Comet, Azonia, the Great Warrior, and Damian the Indomitable…"

Giants, evaluated as successors of great heroes, were gathered in Lumern right now.

"If it's such a big event that the Heroes of Genesis have gathered again, it should definitely be in the records, but as far as I know, the Heroes of Genesis have never gathered in Lumern."

"Huh? Really?"

"Don't you think it's basic to know about the history of the school you attend?"

"It's a bit strange to hear such a studious remark come from your mouth?"

"Hmph. It's basic. You're knowledgeable about trivial things, yet ignorant about this?"

"Well, I guess."

Kal shrugged his shoulders.

"Anyway, it was a rare occasion, so rare that it could be counted on one hand, for the Heroes of Genesis to gather in one place after the End of the Calamity's Return."

Eliza fell into thought.

"The fact that such an important event occurred at Lumern Academy but wasn't recorded in history… means that the reason behind it is the key keyword for conquering the hero's world."

"Exactly."

Eliza wore a satisfied expression.

Then, crossing her legs, she sat on the bed and said,

"First, we need to figure out how many conquerors there are."

It was essential when caught in a hero's dungeon.

"For starters, all the participating students from Lumern's second year must be in this world."

Eliza recalled the events before entering the hero's world.

The place where Lumern students were waiting was clearly within the activation range.

"Not just us, but all the second-year students from other schools who were waiting to participate must have been swept in."

"How do you know that?"

"I checked just before."

"In that sudden situation, did you have time to check that?"

"Yes."

"Hmm…"

Eliza squinted her eyes.

"You're certainly good at improvising."

"Oh? Is that a compliment?"

"Did it sound like a compliment?"

Kal chuckled.

"Anyway, let's get a little sleep."

Kal checked his watch.

There was still a little time left to sleep.

Eliza, nodding at his words, asked,

"Where will you sleep?"

"In the bed, of course. This is the room of the person I've possessed."

"Don't be ridiculous. The bed is my spot."

"You want to sleep together?"

"Are you asking for death by making such a crude joke?"

As Eliza asked in a cold voice, Kal grinned slyly and lay down on the floor.

Looking down at Kal, Eliza snorted, lay down on the bed, and pulled up the covers.

As Eliza turned her body away from Kal and tried to fall asleep, Karl asked,

"By the way, Eliza. How is your training these days?"

"Are you asking now after not caring about it?"

With her back turned, Eliza snorted.

"My training hasn't had any problems without you. It's going well. I've gotten somewhat used to that damned pain."

"Weren't you already used to pain? Didn't you sometimes laugh like you'd lost your mind?"

"Didn't I tell you never to talk about that again?"

Eliza turned her body, looked down at Kal, and scrunched up her face.

Seeing Eliza like that, Kal chuckled.

"I'm sorry I couldn't pay attention to you. I was captured by Senior Elena and had my labor exploited. I wanted to help as much as I could, but I just couldn't."

Kal lay on his back, hands behind his head, and crossed his legs.

Staring at the ceiling, Kal mumbled,

"Well, you're doing well enough without me, though."

"Knowing that so well, why did you not know your place and offer to help?"

Eliza said irritably.

"You should have taken care of yourself instead of worrying about me. If you had, you might have been able to improve your skills a little and avoid expulsion."

"Hmm. To put it coldly, that's not it."

"Indeed, that's true."

"…Aren't you admitting it too quickly?"

Kal, letting out a hollow laugh, said,

"I just wanted to help."

"Why?"

"You weren't yourself back then."

"What?"

Eliza's eyes widened slightly.

"The Eliza Hergin I know isn't someone who doubts her own potential."

Kal smiled faintly.

"You might seem arrogant and look down on others, but you're actually responsible and take good care of those around you."

Eliza is the leader of the second-year summoning department.

And the entire second-year summoning department follows her very much.

It would be difficult to gain such respect if she were merely proud and contemptuous of others.

Since her admission, she has led her fellow students with the goal of making the summoning department the best.

"When you hit a wall, you break through it by any means necessary. That's the look that suits you best. That's why I wanted to help."

Eliza looked at Kal with vacant eyes.

A moment later, Eliza clenched her fist tightly and said,

"Kal Thomas."

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry for saying harsh things back then."

"Ah, that? Don't worry about it. I don't care. It's the truth, isn't it?"

"It's not the truth."

Eliza tilted her head.

"There's no one among us who doesn't think you're amazing. Especially since we've received so much help from you. Even though I said that just now… I wouldn't have been able to endure the training without your help."

Eliza looked into Kal's eyes.

Seeing Eliza like that, Kal was taken aback.

"Hey, hey, why are you suddenly like this?"

"So don't give up."

"Huh?"

"You're still very useful."

"…"

Kal scratched his cheek.

Then he let out a small laugh.

"I haven't given up. I'll struggle as much as I can. Well, I don't know if it will work out, though."

"Hmm?"

"If I get expelled, don't pretend you don't know me. Connections are extremely important once you leave school."

At his words, Eliza let out a snort.

"If that's what you're worried about, shall we be friends?"

"Huh?"

Kal's jaw dropped.

"Consider it an honor. That I, the successor of the Hergin family, acknowledge you, a mere commoner, as an equal."

Kal scratched his head and then grinned.

"I'm so honored, I don't know what to do."

"Yes. That's good to know."

Eliza chuckled.

Kal looked at her with a surprised expression.

'It feels a bit awkward when we're on first-name terms.'

"Since it's come to this, make sure you get promoted to third year."

"I told you, it's not something that happens just by trying."

Eliza glanced at him, then raised her head and rested her chin on her hand.

"Even though you said you haven't given up, you're pathetic with your lack of motivation."

"Well, if there were some extra prizes, I might get motivated."

"Pathetic."

Eliza clicked her tongue.

Seeing Eliza like that, Kal grinned slyly.

"If you're grateful for my help during training, how about returning the favor by granting me one wish when I become a third-year student? Who knows, maybe my motivation will increase a little."

At his words, Eliza sat up.

Kal, expecting immediate punishment at that reaction, cowered with a 'Heeek!'

But the lashing he expected didn't come.

"Okay."

"Huh?"

Kal raised his head.

There was Eliza, with her legs crossed, elbows on her knees, chin in her hand, smiling.

"I'll grant you any one wish. So, show a little more motivation."

"Really?"

Kal asked with a dumbfounded expression.

"People of the Hergin family don't go back on their word."

"Really? Really? You'll do anything I ask, right?"

Kal grabbed Eliza's hand and asked.

"You… what are you planning to ask me to do?"

Eliza asked, squinting her eyes, but Kal jumped to his feet.

"Alright! I'll get promoted to third year by any means necessary!"

Eliza, with an expression of disbelief at his reaction, looked down at the hand Kal was holding and let out a 'pfft' laugh.

"Well, before that, conquering this hero's world is the priority."

Kal, who had been burning with motivation, said seriously.

"Yes, that's right. I know the most basic conquest method for possessed worlds."

"Of course."

Kal smiled confidently.

"You have to act like the possessed person. Well, Eliza, you might not be able to fully understand the person you've possessed due to the lack of clues, but I've already figured it all out."

"Oh ho? How?"

Eliza looked interested.

"The dorm supervisor's reaction earlier, the fact that Meggin Shell, the one you've possessed, broke school rules to be here in the middle of the night, and most importantly."

Kal opened a desk drawer and took out a small wooden box.

He had found it while searching the desk earlier.

*Click-*

When he opened the box, it was filled with luxurious women's hairpins.

"They all seem to belong to different women, looking at the tendency to collect these."

Kal clicked his tongue.

"This person is a terrible womanizer."

"Your deduction skills are good. So. Can you act like that person?"

"There's no reason I can't."

***

'Yes, you're doing well.'

Eliza smiled coldly.

'You drool over any woman, don't you? It's your calling.'

Cleric Jessieang is the second prince of Jessian, a magical kingdom located in the center of the continent.

Furthermore, he is a talented individual who will become Lumern's first student council president.

A strong background and overwhelming talent.

Combined with his personality, he was a Casanova who had many romantic entanglements.

Kal did his best to act like such a Cleric.

The more he did, the more sinister Eliza's eyes became.

'I might die if we're alone later.'

She was just doing her best to do what she had to do!

It was when Kal wanted to cry.

"I've heard rumors, but aren't you a complete rutting stallion?!"

A voice of pity was heard from afar.

An elf was approaching, arms crossed.

Seeing the elf approaching with her shoulders squared, the Lumern female students around Kal began to murmur.

"It's the student council president of Seirun."

"What is it? Is she here to provoke us right before the exchange competition?"

Kal narrowed his eyes, looking at Seira Tingel, the student council president of Seirun.

'Seira Tingel. Mage of the Comet. Seirun's younger sister.'

And she was also the de facto founder of the Tingel family, which had no descendants.

"You runt! You have such a stupid face!"

Students murmured, watching Seira, who was shouting pitifully with her arms crossed.

"Doesn't the student council president of Seirun's personality seem a bit different?"

"It does. Her way of speaking is rough. I heard she was a very graceful person through rumors."

'Could this guy…?'

Kal had a look of doubt as he looked at Seira, who had a strangely familiar aura.

"Isn't that right? Azonia-nim?"

"Books about beastfolk… are more… r-really interesting."

"Nyahahah! I told you not to do that with that face!"

"Heeek?!"

Seira lunged at Azonia.

Azonia looked frightened as Seira thrashed around with a flushed face.

Seeing that, Eliza covered her face, having grasped the situation.

Kal mumbled blankly,

'Seira is Argo, and Azonia-nim is Eiran.'
