Book 1 Chapter 770
An elf walking down a street in Daeang scowled, furrowing her delicate brow.
“Such a vulgar city.”
The elf’s narrowed eyes reflected the residential area of Daeang’s common citizens.
“I don’t know how much time has passed… but slaves never seem to progress. How unpleasant.”
As if unable to tolerate breathing the same air.
Enisilia offered a smile tinged with annoyance.
“Have you awakened from eternal slumber? Enisilia.”
At the voice from behind, Enisilia removed the handkerchief from her nose.
She then gracefully greeted a man and a woman with pale blue skin.
“Greetings to the Third Saint and Saintess.”
“You are as beautiful as ever.”
“Is it not thanks to the grace of the great goddess that I can maintain my beauty?”
Enisilia offered a beautiful smile.
“Enisilia, do you know why you have awakened from your long slumber?”
“I know I was awakened from a long slumber to once again announce the goddess’s will to the world.”
“Indeed. But there is more you must do.”
“What is it?”
“Do you know what the inhabitants of the earth call this era?”
“Well… I’ve only just opened my eyes, so I don’t know that much…”
“They call it the Age of Heroes.”
“The Age of… Heroes?”
Enisilia wore a peculiar expression.
“Yes. The foolish gods of the heavens have disappeared from the earth. And heroes recognized by those heavenly gods are said to be leading this era.”
“How arrogant. How can foolish earth dwellers lead the world?”
“Precisely. Because of that, the inhabitants of the earth have lost their way.”
Phlegethon, the Third Saint, spoke.
“Enisilia. The foolish earth dwellers need a light. Humans, for starters.”
“We need to show humans what a true hero is.”
Furi, the Saintess of Fire, curled her lips upwards.
“Show them how futile the beings they call heroes truly are.”
“I shall carry out your will. By the way, are the beings revered as heroes in this city?”
“No. Not here. However, this city is said to be the capital of this country. They will come if we ‘purify’ the impurities.”
“That would be so.”
Enisilia chuckled deeply and conjured her magic.
“I had to deal with that human, the second prince, anyway.”
Gooohh-
Destructive magic surged.
“I suppose I can cleanse this filthy place along with him.”
Flash! Kwagagagagag—!
Indiscriminate magical bombardment.
“Kyaaak!”
“M-magic!”
“Save me!”
In an instant, the street turned into a scene of chaos.
“What vulgar noises.”
Enisilia frowned, as if finding the sounds unbearable, and began unleashing spells.
A massacre-like, indiscriminate terror.
Enisilia walked with a blank expression.
Thump- thump-
“Ughhhhhh!”
Before Enisilia, a young boy, who had lost his parents, sat crying.
“Noisy. Slave.”
Woong-!
As destructive magic surged at Enisilia’s fingertips.
Fwoosh-!
A rapier imbued with fiery aura was swung, aiming for Enisilia’s neck.
Caught off guard by the sudden attack, Enisilia withdrew her magic and deployed a barrier using her spells.
Kwahng-!
The fiery aura within the rapier struck Enisilia’s barrier.
A sword strike imbued with immense power.
Enisilia’s golden eyes turned to Celia, who had swung the sword.
“Oh?”
Enisilia’s eyes filled with interest at the appearance of the beautiful girl.
Meanwhile, Chen Xia quickly embraced the boy and retreated.
“I never let go of what I aim for.”
Enisilia curled her lips and swiped her palm.
Then, the ground seemed to come alive, trying to ensnare Chen Xia.
However, Chen Xia dodged Enisilia’s attack like flowing water, performing an aura step.
As Chen Xia moved out of range, Celia shouted towards the sky.
“Now!”
At the same moment, Chloe, who was flying through the sky, completed her spell.
“Ice Blast.”
A spherical orb filled with cold air flew, targeting Enisilia.
Saaaaa-!
In an instant, Celia maximized the explosive power of her fiery aura and pressed down on Enisilia.
And while Enisilia faltered, she quickly put distance between them.
Poof-!
As Celia performed an aura step, an explosion occurred at her feet, accelerating her body.
Hwaak! Kwagagagag-!
Meanwhile, the Ice Blast exploded right in front of Enisilia’s nose, creating a massive vortex of cold.
Tzzzzzz-!
The cold explosion did not spread outwards but concentrated around Enisilia.
Saaaaa-!
A momentary obscuring of vision by cold frost.
Crack- crack-
Enisilia emerged from the frost, her lips curling upwards.
“Impressive. They are merely young human girls… yet this much.”
Enisilia narrowed her eyes.
“I see. Are you the ones called heroes in this era? You are indeed remarkable.”
Along with them, students from Seirun also appeared from a distance.
“An elf?”
“What is that crazy woman doing now!”
Eiran exclaimed in surprise, while Lunia covered her face.
“Oh? Elves from this era?”
Enisilia’s lips curled upwards upon spotting the Seirun students.
“Kneel and worship me. My name is Enisilia, the First Elf King.”
Eiran’s expression turned to surprise as she looked at Enisilia, who spoke with her chin held high.
“If it’s Enisilia… aren’t you the ancient hero who became the motif for the Queen in chess?”
“Why is that ancient hero appearing in the present day and committing acts of terror? I’ve never heard of any ancient heroes in the Hero Records!”
The oldest heroes recorded in the Hero Records were only those from the Age of Calamity, who were active in the same era as the Great Heroes.
There were no records of heroes from earlier eras.
As Lunia scowled, Enisilia said,
“I awakened after being put to sleep in eternal ice through the grace of Lord Nyx, the Great Death Freeze.”
“Death Freeze? Nyx? Eternal Ice? What is that?”
“Is it a cousin of Erebus, the Flame of Calamity? What is it?”
As Eiran, wearing a puzzled expression, was followed by Lunia’s annoyed remark, Enisilia’s eyes flashed.
Flash-! Kwahng-!
A massive explosion occurred where Lunia was.
Hwaak-!
As the smoke cleared, Eiran, holding a shield, glared at Enisilia with cold eyes.
“What is the meaning of this?”
“How dare you compare Lord Nyx to such a monstrosity… You deserve to die! Why are you protecting that blasphemous red hair!”
Watching Enisilia erupt in anger, Lunia clicked her tongue.
“Now that the Pureblood Society is gone, are you a crazy elf who fell for a cult? Anyway, elves are a hopeless race.”
“Lunia, that’s a discriminatory remark about a race.”
“It doesn’t matter. I’m an elf, so what’s the problem?”
Lunia crossed her arms and scoffed.
Enisilia’s eyes flashed as she watched Lunia.
“You! I’ll rip you to shreds!”
Flash-!
A golden flash erupted from Enisilia’s hand.
At that moment.
Fwoooooosh-! Kwahng-!
The crimson flame, erupting from Lunia’s hand, collided with the golden flash, causing an explosion.
“Rip to shreds? Who? Who are you going to rip to shreds?”
Lunia’s lips curled upwards.
“With that level of skill, you think you can take me on?”
At Lunia’s clear mockery, Enisilia’s face hardened.
‘What is this woman?’
She did not look like an elf who was visibly very old.
But the power she displayed for a moment was overwhelming.
“You… what are you?”
“My name is Lunia El Lundia.”
Whoosh-
Lunia’s red hair fluttered in the wind.
“She who chases the nebulae.”
As Enisilia took an involuntary step back from that overwhelming presence.
“Wow, she said her own name and title.”
“Isn’t that a bit embarrassing?”
“I’m a little jealous. It means you have a hero’s name to reveal to someone.”
“So? If you become a hero, you’ll do that?”
“Nah, I don’t think so. I’d be too embarrassed to do that.”
Celia, Chloe, and Chen Xia whispered.
Lunia’s shoulders twitched at their words, and her ears pricked up incessantly.
“Lunia! That was cool! It looks like practicing paid off!”
Just then, Eiran shouted from behind with a flushed voice.
“My word, you practiced.”
“Lunia also had a rather cute side to her.”
“Though her actions are those of a complete female thug.”
Seeing the Lumern students whispering again after hearing that, Lunia, whose face had turned red, shouted.
“You guys!”
It was at that moment that Lunia bristled.
Flash-!
A pillar of golden light descended from the sky, and several races emerged from the pillar of light.
“What are those now?”
As Lunia scowled, Enisilia said,
“It’s natural for a queen like me to have escorts.”
They were an elf, a human, a beastman, and a dwarf man, respectively.
Looking at the splendid warriors clad in golden armor, Chloe muttered.
“That woman called herself Enisilia, right? If so, she’s the Queen… so are those the King, Knight, Bishop, and Rook?”
Celia nodded at Chloe’s deduction.
“That sounds plausible.”
“Are those people really ancient heroes?”
“Perhaps we can ask Leo-nim?”
Eiran replied to Chen Xia’s question.
“How can I ask Leo now? Besides, whether they are ancient heroes or not… do we need to ask Leo to defeat these guys?”
Lunia’s joints popped.
“We can handle it on our own.”
Heh- Lunia flashed a belligerent smile.
***
“Such beautiful girls. They possess souls so special that Nyx would likely promise them eternity if she saw them.”
“Yes. But their ideology is blasphemous. In their current state, they are unworthy of receiving grace.”
On the roof of a tall building overlooking the battle.
Phlegethon spoke, but Furi shook her head.
“Yes, so first they must know of the goddess’s existence and have a heart that worships her…”
“In this era, the only ones who would worship such a dirty, evil god are hideous traitors!”
Phlegethon and Furi flinched and turned their heads.
Between the two demons, Leo sat cross-legged, resting his chin, watching his friends.
“Who are you?”
“Leo Plove.”
“Leo Plove? Are you the blasphemer who murdered the Second Saintess?”
“That’s right.”
Leo grinned and looked up at Phlegethon on his right.
Phlegethon sneered as he looked at Leo.
“I hear you’re called an unknown hero. I heard that foolish gods praise heroes who achieve great deeds and bestow epithets upon them. But it seems you had no epithet to be given.”
“I’m not interested. Epithets bestowed by gods mean nothing to me.”
Despite the sneer, Leo responded indifferently.
“All I care about is dealing with the resurrected fragments of Erebus.”
“You… refrain from blasphemous words! He is not a fragment of the Flame of Calamity, but the Death Freeze.”
“I know. Nyx, or whatever her name is, the loser who was defeated by that Erebus fellow and disappeared into the annals of history.”
At Leo’s words, Phlegethon and Furi’s eyes flashed with murderous intent.
“A human who has lost all fear.”
“The sin of blaspheming against a god is great!”
Phlegethon and Furi revealed their chilling murderous intent.
Even with the storm-like murderous intent, Leo remained seated without a word.
Seeing this, Furi, misunderstanding, contorted her lips.
“You seem frozen in fear. It’s no use regretting it…”
“Who is afraid of the likes of you?”
The moment Leo said dismissively.
“Found them. Damn demons.”
Thump- thump-
With a sinister voice, someone placed their hands on the back of Phlegethon and Furi’s heads.
The thick murderous intent froze Phlegethon and Furi, preventing them from reacting.
Kwahng-! Kwagagagagagagag!
Lysinath slammed the two of them face-first into the ground.
The building collapsed under the immense impact.
Leo, levitating in the air with magic, looked at the debris of the half-collapsed building.
From there, Lysinath, with a furious expression, looked down at Phlegethon and Furi, who were buried at his feet.
Even for Leo, he had rarely seen Lysinath so enraged.
The eyes of the King of Wisdom shone menacingly.
“Choose.”
Lysinath ground his teeth.
“Do you want to be torn to pieces and die, or crushed to death?”
