Book 1 Chapter 827
“Whoa?! That looks delicious too! Mister! One of these, please!”
Iliana happily bought a chicken skewer from a street vendor, giggling.
Watching Iliana, Teid crossed his arms.
“Aren’t you eating too much?”
“Hey! This is how you relieve exam stress!”
Munching and nodding, Iliana bit into the chicken skewer with a blissful expression.
Seeing Iliana like that, Nela tilted her head.
“Iliana isn’t someone who eats this much… Why is she acting like this?”
Chelsea chuckled at her words.
“She’s probably stressed about failing her exams and is coping by eating.”
“I’ve eaten my fill, so let’s get some exercise! There’s a dart throwing game over there!”
“It says Lumern students are prohibited.”
“Whaaaaaaat!”
Iliana cried out.
Watching her, Nela covered her mouth and laughed.
“Whatever the reason, it’s good to see her enjoying her free time. Let’s enjoy ourselves too.”
“Yeah!”
“Speaking of which, while it’s understandable for Leo, it’s a little disappointing that Kal isn’t here.”
Nela licked her lips.
The members currently here are the ones who were in Class 5 during their first year.
“I know! It’s understandable that the class president, being the student council president, is busy, but Kal isn’t like that!”
“He said he was going to check on his shop?”
“Great! Let’s stay at Kal’s shop tonight!”
“We can’t stay out overnight. We have to take the last boat back to Lumern today.”
At those words, Iliana glanced at Chelsea.
“…What? What’s with that creepy stare?”
“No, I was just wondering when you became such a diligent rule-follower.”
“Idiot. Do you think Leo-oppa would just let us break the rules carelessly?”
“The class president is close with us! He’ll definitely let it slide!”
Watching Iliana, who was making unfounded claims while clenching her fists, Teid said,
“Should we go back and leave Iliana behind? I’m curious to see how Leo will punish that kid.”
“Hmph! You cheapskates! Don’t you have any courage!”
Iliana put her hands on her hips and whined about staying out.
Just then.
“Who was that? Who was talking about staying out?”
Celia, with narrowed eyes, appeared.
“Brother!”
Behind Celia, Abad appeared.
Chelsea smiled brightly and ran towards Abad.
“Chelsea, were you having fun?”
“Yes!”
Watching the siblings in a cheerful atmosphere, Teid muttered,
“Chelsea, she really changes when she’s in front of Leo and Abad.”
“Huh? Isn’t she the same as usual?”
“That’s because she’s nice to Nela too.”
“What about when we’re not around?”
“What are you asking? She’s just a short, great demon… Cough!”
Chelsea landed a dropkick to Teid’s stomach.
“Huh? What did you say? Who are you calling a short, great demon?”
“Was I wrong?!”
Nela laughed, watching the two of them growl at each other, raising their voices.
‘It’s like they haven’t changed even in their third year.’
Thinking how consistent they were, Nela shifted her gaze.
Then she looked at Iliana clinging to Celia and begging her to ask for leniency.
Nela covered her mouth and let out a few chuckles before asking Abad,
“Abad, why are you with Celia?”
“We met on the way. I was helping out with the disciplinary committee.”
“Huh? You’re not on the disciplinary committee.”
“It just happened that way.”
Abad smiled faintly.
Chelsea, who had been bickering with Teid, clasped hands with him as she listened to the conversation between the two with the best looks in their year.
“Looking at you two, you’re so well-matched! Nela-unnie! What do you think about getting married to our family?”
“Hehe, it’s an honor.”
Nela said with a smile, and Chelsea pouted.
“No, I’m being serious. Don’t you think Nela-unnie is a suitable match, Brother?”
At Chelsea’s words, Abad gave Nela a similar smile.
Chelsea, knowing that it was an unspoken rejection, licked her lips regretfully.
‘It seems they have no feelings for each other at all.’
Sensing that, Chelsea willingly stepped back.
“What are you all doing gathered here?”
Just then, Chloe, Duran, and Haul, who were passing by, approached.
“Oh? Who do we have here? Aren’t you the esteemed students of Class 1?”
Teid, with his arms crossed, spoke slightly provocatively, and Duran smiled coldly.
“If you’re trying to pick a fight, I’ll take you up on it, Teid Marcoa.”
“No way, this guy doesn’t take jokes?”
Teid shook his head in disbelief.
These four, including Celia, were in Class 1 during their first year.
Class 5 was handled by Halind, and Class 1 by Sedjen.
Even after becoming sophomores, students from these two classes showed a strong bond compared to other classes.
Class 1 was well-united around Sedjen, and Class 5 became close-knit by enduring Halind’s stern education.
“You’re here?”
“Hmph.”
Nela said with a smile, and Duran snorted and took a step back.
Since their first year, Duran had shown a tendency to back down a little in front of Nela.
Watching that, Iliana approached Nela and whispered,
“Nela.”
“What?”
“I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but do you have feelings for Duran….”
*Thwack-!*
“Cough?!”
Nela’s fist hit Iliana’s side.
Everyone looked at Iliana, who was clutching her side and gasping for breath, with puzzled expressions.
Nela smiled as if nothing had happened and asked Iliana,
“I’m not sure I heard you correctly, could you say that again, Iliana?”
“Oh, it’s nothing.”
Iliana quickly shook her head.
She thought she had found something to tease Nela about, but she had a feeling her ribs would be shattered if she was careless.
Feeling an inexplicable chill, Iliana changed her target.
“Celia.”
“What?”
As Celia swept her hair aside, Iliana’s eyes slitted.
“Are you and Abad dating?”
“Are you crazy?”
Celia scoffed, and Chelsea sighed.
“She’s at it again with the romance talk.”
“Why? Lately, the atmosphere between you two has been… suspicious. Detective Iliana’s intuition is spot on. Just a moment ago…”
Iliana, who had put her hands on her hips and puffed out her chest, flinched.
She suddenly saw Nela pull out a giant morning star and grip it.
“A-anyway! I smell something! I smell it!”
Iliana pointed at Celia with a wagging finger.
“Why would my brother, of all people, like a woman like you, who’s like a fire-breathing wild boar!”
“Hey! Why am I a fire-breathing wild boar!”
“Because you charge in wildly like a wild boar while covered in flames! It’s a perfect fit!”
“Chelsea, you shouldn’t tease people.”
“Ugh.”
Even Abad chimed in, and Chelsea flinched and hunched her neck.
Watching that, Iliana stroked her chin.
“Oh? You’re taking Celia’s side? Suspicious indeed.”
“It’s just Abad being Abad.”
Chloe sighed and asked,
“Then Iliana, instead of other people’s love lives. Don’t you have anything?”
When the arrow turned back to her, Iliana’s eyes widened.
“There’s a rumor going around among the first-years lately that you and Kal are dating.”
“Kal and me?”
Iliana clutched her stomach and burst into laughter.
“Kal has zero appeal as a romantic partner!”
Hearing that, Teid chuckled.
“Kal says the same thing.”
“Huh?! What makes him think he can judge me like that! He’s so arrogant! Just Kal!”
Iliana’s eyes narrowed.
Then, with her arms crossed, she declared confidently,
“Anyway! I’ve already decided who I’m going to marry in the future!”
“Huh?”
“What did you say?”
Everyone wore expressions of disbelief.
Chelsea, with an incredulous look, asked,
“Who?”
“The class president!”
Chelsea and Chloe’s eyes twitched.
Celia crossed her arms and said,
“Rejected.”
“Who are you to say that!”
“Leo’s cousin.”
Celia swept her hair aside.
“Whether he likes it or not, Leo has become a significant figure who influences the current world. Therefore, the responsibility and burden of his partner will be immense.”
“Yes, I know. I know very well. Celia. I understand that you see me as someone who acts impulsively and without much thought.”
“……”
“I want to be the class president’s partner despite that.”
“I’m sorry, Iliana. I didn’t know you were thinking that seriously.”
Celia wore an apologetic expression.
“If you know the responsibility and weight well, then I don’t really have any objections…”
“Yes. That’s why what I want to be is the class president’s second wife.”
“……?”
Celia’s expression was momentarily stunned.
“If it’s a king, having concubines isn’t a big deal, is it? Especially for a figure like the class president.”
Iliana’s eyes sparkled.
“If it’s the class president, he won’t covet our Raiden family when he gets married. Instead, he could entrust us with the management of the Raiden family. Then I can live a life of leisure, playing and eating, and thrive under the class president’s influence!”
Watching Iliana speaking enthusiastically with her fists clenched, Celia asked hesitantly,
“You’re joking, right?”
“I’m serious?”
“I won’t let someone with your rotten mentality become Leo’s second wife!”
“Why!”
“Someone get me salt! I’m going to sprinkle it!”
“Whaaaaaaaat!”
Iliana, with a tearful face, clung to Celia.
“…What is all this commotion?”
Just then, Kal, who had gone to take care of shop business, appeared.
Seeing his friends causing a disturbance on the street, Kal wore a bewildered expression, and Chelsea, with her arms crossed, explained the situation.
After hearing the story, Kal chuckled in disbelief.
“That’s a very Iliana-like thought.”
“Right?”
Kal, standing beside them, shook his head as if he couldn’t be helped.
Watching Chelsea and Chloe like that, Kal spoke in a slightly playful voice,
“You must have been relieved, right?”
When Kal spoke teasingly, Chloe glared at him, and Chelsea snorted.
“Even if there were a truckload of that idiot, I’d still win.”
“Yeah. But Iliana isn’t the problem right now.”
“What do you mean?”
“You guys should probably get tense.”
Kal shrugged.
Chelsea and Chloe looked at Kal.
Kal’s information network is excellent.
Especially when it concerns Leo.
Looking at the two of them, Kal said,
“Elena-senpai asked Leo to go to a deserted island with just the two of them.”
At those words, Chelsea scowled, and Chloe’s eyes wavered slightly.
“S-so, what did Leo say?”
To Chloe’s anxious question, Kal scratched his cheek.
Honestly, he was afraid of Elena’s retaliation if he spread what he had secretly overheard.
But personally, Kal valued his friends more.
“He said he’d go.”
