Book 1 Chapter 889

889.

Returning to the Knights Department dormitory, Chen Xia unpacked her luggage.

Celia, who came to Chen Xia's dorm room door, asked.

"What in the world happened?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"It was posted on the notice board that a fragment of Erebus was subjugated."

"Ah."

"Is it true?"

"Yes."

At Chen Xia's words, Celia looked a little flustered.

"There weren't any particular signs, were there?"

Celia herself had experienced a fragment of Erebus before.

That's why she knew well what happens when a fragment of Erebus revives.

There was a notice, and Chen Xia wasn't lying.

But even so, it was hard to believe that a fragment of Erebus had revived without any signs.

"Could it be that from now on, they'll revive without any signs? That would be serious…"

As Celia muttered worriedly, Chen Xia smiled gently.

"This was a special case. You don't have to worry about that."

"Really?"

Celia let out a slight sigh of relief.

"Anyway."

"Yes?"

"What does it mean to have your name on the Hero Record?"

"Ah. That is…"

*Bang-!*

"Chen Xia!"

"Hey, hey, hey! Duran! Entering the girls' section is against school rules!"

"Calm down a bit!"

The dormitory is largely divided into three sections.

The common lounge, the girls' section, and the boys' section.

It goes without saying that, excluding the common area, entry into the opposite-sex section was strictly forbidden.

And now, someone was daring to attempt to intrude into the girls' section.

That was Duran.

The boys from the Knights Department were aghast and pulling Duran back.

Even though four boys, bigger than himself, were pulling him, Duran was still pushing forward.

The girls resting in the common room of the girls' section looked at Duran with intrigued expressions.

Some screamed and waved at Duran, welcoming him.

It wasn't like he was sneaking in; trying to intrude so openly felt like an amusing event.

Besides, they somewhat guessed why he was acting so wildly.

While the boys struggled to restrain Duran.

"That idiot."

Celia, leaning against the railing of the 3rd-floor corridor in the 3rd-year section, watched the scene, holding her head and shaking it.

Chen Xia, who came out of her room, also looked down at the railing and smiled.

"Hehe, Duran is always so full of energy."

"It's not something to laugh about. Anyway, that guy has no moderation."

"Please. I'll just finish organizing my luggage and leave right away."

"Alright."

Celia clicked her tongue, hopped over the railing, and jumped down to the first floor.

*Thump-!*

Celia, who landed lightly on the floor, approached Duran and said.

"Don't make a fuss and wait. Xia said she'll come out once she's done organizing her luggage."

"Aw~ Celia. Tell Duran to come in and wait."

"That's right, that's right. Wouldn't it be better to come here and talk comfortably?"

Celia answered firmly to the 4th and 5th-year students.

"No. It's against school rules."

"How boring~"

Celia sighed, looking at her grumbling seniors, then crossed her arms, looking at a somewhat calmed Duran.

"If you cause any more fuss, it's really against school rules, okay?"

"Tsk."

Duran clicked his tongue, retreated from the entrance, and plopped down onto a sofa in the lounge.

Celia shook her head at Duran and closed the door.

"Chaos on the first day back."

Celia sighed deeply and glanced at the third floor.

Chen Xia had already gone into her room and wasn't there.

Outwardly, she pretended to be calm, but Celia also felt anxious.

Already, as a student, and a classmate, there was Leona Kal, whose name was on the Hero Record.

But even so, it wasn't something she could simply be happy about, with Chen Xia, whom she considered a rival, getting ahead.

'I can't afford to fall behind.'

Celia's competitive spirit ignited.

Thinking that far, Celia suddenly remembered something.

'What if not just Chen Xia, but Chelsea also gets her name on the Hero Record?'

Celia's face turned pale, having thought that far.

Then she hastily went up to the third floor and pounded on Chen Xia's door.

"Xia! Come out quickly and tell me what happened!"

*Bang bang-!*

At the knocking sound, almost like banging, Chen Xia, who was changing clothes, gave an awkward smile.

"Oh dear, this is troubling."

***

The top floor of the Clock Tower Dormitory.

Leo, who arrived at the student council room, casually tossed his luggage aside and flopped onto the sofa.

Then he pulled at his tie, loosened it, and leaned his head back.

He glanced out the window and saw the sky painted with the sunset.

'Should I just sleep instead of eating dinner?'

Feeling tired, Leo let out a deep sigh.

As Leo was having such thoughts.

*Slam-!*

The door opened.

Only a very few people could enter Leo's room within the dormitory.

And among them, only two could come without a sound.

One of them was writing a reflection paper in his professor's office.

"Ah! O great King of the World! This lowly Hero Record librarian, Liane, greets you!"

Liane bowed deeply to the floor, entering as usual, exaggeratedly praising Leo.

At his fanatical appearance, Leo sat up and rested his chin on his hand.

"You've come at a good time."

"I was waiting, sensing that you might need me!"

Liane crept along the floor at incredible speed, coming right up to Leo.

His crawling skills were superb, truly like watching a cockroach.

"Command me, Lord Leo."

Leo spoke, looking at Liane whose eyes were sparkling brightly.

"I have something to say regarding this Erebus subjugation."

"What infinite glory! To hear directly from Lord Leo the tale of subjugating that monstrous scrap!"

Seeing Liane genuinely pleased, Leo recounted the entire story of the subjugation of the third fragment of Erebus to Liane.

Unlike his usual theatrics, Liane listened to Leo's words with a very serious face.

Soon after Leo's story ended, Liane spoke.

"The related matter is whether or not to grant the title of hero to the hero candidates, correct?"

"Yes."

Leo was the master of the Hero Record.

With the authority to record and delete, it was easy to put names on the Hero Record.

However, Leo did not hastily record the names of the hero candidates who had participated this time on the Hero Record.

The reason was simple.

Because his standards were different from those of the gods.

For the past 5000 years, it was none other than Liane who had recorded the Hero Record.

But that wasn't done solely on Liane's own initiative.

It was recorded after numerous discussions among the many gods about whether the candidates truly qualified.

Of course, not all heroes recorded in that way were truly heroic.

Depending on the gods' inclinations.

And according to the individual interests and whims of the gods, some unheroic individuals have also had their names placed on the Hero Record.

But even so, it was true that transcendent beings had made the records after long meetings.

Leo didn't particularly trust the gods.

But he also didn't deny the gods' abilities.

'No matter what, if I decide the records of the Hero Record based on my personal judgment, it might cause chaos.'

"You intend to have those god-scraps determine whether or not they are heroes worthy of being named in the Hero Record."

"Yes."

Liane nodded, looking at Leo who spoke seriously.

"In that case, I will convene a council of gods."

"Many will probably not attend because they find it bothersome, won't they?"

"Oh, come on. They're good-for-nothings who have nothing else to do, so they'll definitely attend. Then I will inform Lord Leo of the final council's result."

"Thanks for your trouble."

"It's no trouble at all."

Liane smiled gently and left Leo's room.

Left alone, Leo got up.

"Shall I go eat?"

'Come to think of it, I also have student council work to approve.'

It seemed like Elena and Kal were handling the student council president's duties, but in fact, the final decisions were made by Leo.

Leo was bound to have a considerable amount of work to shoulder.

Furthermore, the beginning of the semester was the busiest time for the student council president.

That meant nearly two weeks' worth of work had piled up.

Feeling tired, Leo opened the door.

The moment he left the room, Leo shook off his fatigue and headed to the dining hall with a leisurely stride.

***

"So you saw the future?"

Chloe asked, her eyes wide as saucers.

"Yeah."

Chelsea poked a sausage with her fork, then bit into it with a *chomp-*.

Then she smiled gently.

"Outside food is good, but dorm food is still the best. The nutritional balance is just right."

"You didn't grow much in the future, did you? Seeing you suddenly care about nutritional balance."

Illiana, who was eating with her, chuckled and teased Chelsea.

"Hmph."

But Chelsea merely looked at Illiana with a condescending smile.

At that smile, Illiana tilted her head.

"What's with that confident smile?"

"Nothing. It's just that you, teasing me about something like my height, are too childish."

"I wasn't talking about your height."

"Huh?"

"I was talking about your meager physique."

Chelsea's eyes twitched.

Seeing Chelsea, Illiana made a pitiful expression.

"Oh dear. It seems there's no hope even in the future."

It was just as Chelsea was about to pounce on Illiana like a spiky cat.

"What are you talking about so entertainingly?"

Leo, carrying a tray, sat next to Chloe and asked.

At his question, Illiana smiled brightly.

"Chelsea's chest story."

"Don't tell Brother Leo such vulgar stories!"

"Why? The book said men all like it. Oh, are you too meager for him to like?"

As Illiana burst into laughter, the fork in Chelsea's hand *crunched* and crumpled.

Seeing that, Illiana quickly grabbed her tray and ran away.

"You're dead!"

Chelsea, with eyes blazing, chased after Illiana.

Leo chuckled, watching them.

"Seeing that, it really feels like I'm back in Lumern."

"Leo."

"Hm?"

"I didn't talk about anything indecent."

Leo calmly said, looking at Chloe, whose cheeks were slightly flushed, denying it as if embarrassed.

"I know you're not the type to be interested in such stories."

"Right."

"Anyway, you don't need to be interested, do you?"

At those words, Chloe's eyes narrowed.

"What do you mean?"

"Before, at the hot springs together…"

Chloe, her face bright red, kicked Leo's foot under the table.

Leo giggled at that and soaked his bread before eating it.

"Come to think of it, Senior Elena isn't here."

"Ah, Senior Elena has been away from school for a week due to a mission."

"Really? Then student council work must be ridiculously piled up?"

Leo felt a slight headache coming on.

"I took care of that."

"What?"

"It won't be as perfect as Senior Elena or Kal, as I'm not used to it, though."

Chloe shrugged her shoulders.

Leo stared at Chloe, then said.

"Chloe."

"Yes?"

"Do you want to come to my room after curfew?"

"Huh?"

Chloe stared at Leo with a bewildered expression.
