Book 1 Chapter 947
947.
Leo walked through Guardsrone with Lisinaus in silence.
‘Now, even that damn sky feels unfamiliar.’
The crimson night sky of an era of disaster, filled with foreboding.
For Leo, the crimson night sky was more familiar than the black night sky shining with starlight.
Throughout both his past and present lives, he had seen the crimson night sky more often.
But the night sky he looked up at today felt profoundly unfamiliar.
It was when Leo was looking at the night sky without a word.
“Surprising?”
Lisinaus gave a wry smile.
Leo, hesitating on how to respond to Lisinaus, nodded.
“Yes.”
He answered politely.
If this were Lisinaus’s world, Lisinaus would have recalled the memories from his previous world as soon as he saw Leo.
However, this was Arion’s world.
Only Arion, the ruler of the world, could meet Leo and recall the memories of the previous conquest.
Leo did not tell Lisinaus that he was Kyle.
‘Even if I revealed it, the world wouldn’t collapse or anything…’
Great Heroes, unlike other heroes, do not suffer mental breakdown even if they perceive the existence of the future.
Rather, revealing that they came from the future and sharing what lies ahead was more advantageous for the conquest of the hero’s world.
But Leo could not bring himself to reveal that he was Kyle.
‘…I couldn’t keep my promise.’
The last time he conquered Lisinaus’s world.
Lisinaus’s face, filled with guilt before they parted, flashed through his mind.
‘Even though he acted as if he had shed that guilt when he came to the real world.’
In reality, that wasn’t the case.
He had merely hidden his feelings.
Lisinaus felt greater sadness and guilt over the broken promise with himself, which remained a lie, than the joy of making his lie of saving the world come true.
‘I want to let him fully feel the joy of saving the world.’
That was why Leo did not reveal that he was Kyle.
“It’s also scary, isn’t it?”
“Yes.”
“Well, in the future, it would be something you only read about in books.”
Leo replied calmly to Lisinaus’s words.
“It’s all thanks to you, Great Heroes. Thank you for saving the world.”
Lisinaus’s eyes widened as he looked at Leo.
Then, he smiled brightly and stroked Leo’s head.
“Oh my. How admirable and cute.”
Leo let out a small sigh at Lisinaus’s action of treating him like a child and stroking his head.
He didn’t like being treated this way, but he decided to endure it for now.
“I thought you’d have a bad personality too, resembling that incompetent guy with the repulsive eyes. You’re surprisingly kind?”
That incompetent guy with the repulsive eyes.
Leo knew who it was without asking.
‘This damn lizard, should I just ram into him?’
He was momentarily enraged but decided to hold back.
At that moment.
“Huh? Lisinaus?”
A familiar voice was heard again from across the street.
‘Luna.’
Leo looked at Luna.
“Who’s that cute and handsome kid over there?”
Leo now looked like a young man, but his youthful face remained.
“He said he’s a friend of someone named Kyle.”
“Oh! You’re from the future too!”
Luna approached with large strides, smiling brightly.
Then, she looked Leo up and down and muttered.
“Hmm… everything’s good, but his eyes resemble that idiot’s. Ah, I’m not talking about you, so don’t be offended.”
Luna patted Leo’s shoulder and smiled brightly.
‘These damn guys… should I really flip the table?’
It was when Leo was seriously considering that.
“Are you also taking this kid to Kyle’s house?”
“Yeah. But weren’t you staying at Kyle’s house today?”
“I was going to. But that damn brat kicked me out. Said there were too many people.”
Luna grumbled.
“What about Vihar and Berchia?”
“At Kyle’s house. Ah! And an elf named Eiran showed up too.”
“Were there no beastmen named Azonia and Arra?”
“Huh? There weren’t any like that.”
Luna shook her head.
“Future children keep coming to the past. This is not good.”
“Maybe some kind of magic that allows time travel will be created in the future? At least, it’s not theoretically impossible!”
Luna’s eyes sparkled.
“Hey, hey. How did you come to the past? Ah, you don’t have to say if there are any forbidden matters.”
“It was a coincidence that I came to the past through an artifact left by the gods.”
“Gods? Those incompetent beings made something like that?”
Distrust clearly appeared on Luna’s face.
Leo nodded, recalling Luna’s tendency to dislike gods.
“If it’s the gods… perhaps it’s possible. After all, they are omniscient.”
“Hmph. Omnisciently incompetent beings.”
Luna replied sharply to Lisinaus’s words.
“By the way, what’s your name?”
“Leo Flob.”
“Hmm. Leo.”
Luna held Leo’s shoulders with a serious expression.
“Just in case I’m asking. Do you… perhaps have descendants in the future?”
Leo looked at Luna’s face.
“No. I don’t know how far into the future you came from, but you said we defeated Erebus? Then we would have become historical heroes, right? So… I wonder if my descendants would remain. And… if they did, I’m curious who my partner would be.”
Luna said, rolling her eyes.
At Luna’s words, Leo noticed Lisinaus’s face blurring.
Seeing that, Leo understood one thing.
‘…You know.’
Lisinaus knows the future of the Great Heroes.
‘That’s why you cried.’
He didn’t know how he found out.
‘If it’s Lisinaus, he might be able to figure it out with just a casual hint.’
He wasn’t called the King of Wisdom for nothing.
Leo, hesitating on what to answer, said.
“There are no records of descendants.”
“R-really? Hmm…”
“Still, it’s a well-known fact who Luna-nim liked.”
“Wh-what?!”
Luna jumped up in surprise.
Then, she soon showed a slightly embarrassed expression.
“R-really? How did it become known? No, more importantly, did that guy know my feelings?”
“Is he someone I know? If it’s that idiot, he would never have known until the end.”
“Hey. Lisinaus. That’s too harsh calling him an idiot.”
“You always call him an idiot too, don’t you?”
“Hey. He’s not an idiot.”
Luna’s face softened into a smile.
Conversely, Lisinaus’s face slightly blurred.
‘I didn’t know Kyle would come to know Luna’s feelings in the future. Was it a confession at the end? Or did Kyle notice first? Did Kyle and Luna become intimate before embarking on their final journey?’
His mind was in chaos.
“Aigo. It’s true. When did he realize it?”
Leo thought, watching the anxious Lisinaus and the pleased Luna.
‘They’re having fun. The damn lizard and the pointy-eared one.’
“It’s known in the future that Luna-nim liked the same person as Lisinaus-nim.”
“Ah! So that’s… huh?”
A moment of confusion flashed across Luna’s smiling face.
Lisinaus’s face hardened.
Luna, wracking her brain to understand Leo’s words, wore a serious expression.
“I don’t like that damn perverted dwarf.”
“Then, am I the one who likes that damn pervert?”
Lisinaus retorted without realizing it.
“Ah, perhaps it’s Arion? Lisinaus, did you perhaps like Arion?”
Luna asked hopefully.
To that, Lisinaus became speechless.
Suddenly.
Luna’s eyes turned venomous.
“You… You! You deceitful lizard! You’ve been tricking me all this time?!”
Yelling, Luna lunged at Lisinaus.
Lisinaus looked at Leo with resentful eyes.
“You said you didn’t like him! You said you had no feelings!”
“Ah, no, I…!”
As Luna had often confided in Lisinaus about her feelings for Kyle, she couldn’t help but feel betrayed.
“Liar! Cheat! Lizard! Vixen!”
As Luna’s accusations grew louder, Lisinaus, who couldn’t stand it anymore, had veins pop out on his forehead.
“Don’t be ridiculous! Who are you calling a vixen now! I liked him before you did!”
“You!”
Luna grabbed Lisinaus by the hair.
Of course, Lisinaus didn’t just stand there and take it.
Leo muttered to himself, watching the two holding each other’s hair.
‘Serves you right. You called others idiots and morons.’
Leo, who had been grinning maliciously, suddenly panicked as their fight grew more violent.
‘No, why are they fighting so fiercely?’
Finally, Leo, unable to bear it any longer, intervened.
“Both of you, calm down. Calm down!”
Of course, while trying to break them up, Leo also got his hair grabbed.
Finally, Leo managed to stop them after getting messed up.
Sighing heavily, Leo rubbed his eyes, sandwiched between the two glaring at each other.
He had been hit in the eye by a punch Luna swung while trying to break them up.
“How can you do this to a child!”
“Then you! Look, your scratch is making Leo’s neck bleed!”
Luna pointed at Leo’s collarbone.
It was the price for Leo to take the attacks they inflicted on each other.
“Both of you, calm down.”
“So! Who did Kyle choose?!”
Luna asked with her eyes blazing.
Leo fell silent, then replied.
“That hasn’t been revealed.”
“Ah! Really! That idiot bastard! I can’t stand it! I should go and punch him!”
Lisinaus grabbed Luna, who was glaring in the direction of Kyle’s house, huffing.
“Wait.”
“Why!”
“I’m first.”
Watching the fiercely growling Lisinaus, Leo thought.
‘I should just not reveal that I’m Kyle.’
If he revealed it, he didn’t know what kind of misfortune he might face.
Leo thought so.
Meanwhile, Luna cast a healing spell on Leo.
Seeing Leo’s wounds healed, Luna tilted her head.
“You said your name was Leo, right?”
“Yes.”
“Do you perhaps have any worries?”
“……?”
Leo looked at Luna with a puzzled expression.
Seeing Leo like that, Luna scratched her cheek.
“No. There’s someone I know who makes a similar expression to you when they have worries. The atmosphere is similar… Is it not?”
At Luna’s words, Leo unconsciously touched his face.
‘Was it noticeable?’
“Tell this sister! I’ll help you with your worries.”
Perhaps it was because she thought his atmosphere was similar to Kyle’s?
Lisinaus and Luna felt a strange sense of familiarity towards Leo.
Seeing Luna like that, Leo unconsciously burst into laughter.
“Then, could you help me with my worries?”
“Lisinaus! Why does this kid listen so well? The atmosphere is similar to Kyle’s, but his actions are completely different! How cute!”
Luna vigorously patted Leo’s head.
Leo let out a hollow laugh at her actions.
“So? What are your worries?”
To Luna’s question, Leo asked.
“I’ve been given an opportunity to change the past. But to change the past, I have to risk the lives of my companions. If it were you, Luna-nim, what would you do?”
At Leo’s question, Luna blinked.
Then, she smiled and said resolutely.
“I wouldn’t change it.”
