Book 1 Chapter 947
947.
Leo walked through Guardsron in silence with Lysinass.
'Now even that damn sky feels unfamiliar.'
The dark red night sky of the Age of Calamity, full of ominousness.
For Leo, the dark red night sky was more familiar than a black night sky sparkling with stars.
Because he had seen the dark red night sky more often throughout his previous life and this current one.
But the night sky he suddenly looked up at today felt very unfamiliar.
It was when Leo was silently looking up at the night sky.
"Is it fascinating?"
Lysinass smiled bitterly.
Leo hesitated, wondering how to answer while looking at Lysinass, then nodded his head.
"Yes."
He answered in formal language.
If this had been Lysinass's world, Lysinass would have recalled memories from the previous world as soon as he saw Leo.
But this place was Arion's world.
Only Arion, the master of the world, could meet Leo and recall memories of the previous conquest.
Leo did not tell Lysinass that he was Kyle.
'Even if I revealed it, the world wouldn't collapse, but…'
Great heroes do not suffer mental breakdowns even if they perceive the existence of future beings, unlike other heroes.
Rather, revealing that they came from the future and sharing future events was more advantageous for the hero's world conquest.
However, Leo couldn't bring himself to reveal the fact that he was Kyle.
'…I couldn't keep my promise.'
When he had conquered Lysinass's world before.
Lysinass's face, full of guilt before they parted, flashed through his mind.
'When I came to the real world, I acted as if I had shed that guilt.'
In reality, that wasn't the case.
He had simply hidden his true feelings.
Lysinass felt greater sorrow and guilt over the promise he had made to himself, which ultimately remained a lie, more than the joy of turning his lie of saving the world into a truth.
'I want him to fully feel the joy of having saved the world.'
That's why Leo didn't reveal that he was Kyle.
"It's scary, isn't it?"
"Yes."
"Well, in the future, it would be something you'd only see in books."
Leo answered calmly to Lysinass's words.
"It's all thanks to the Great Heroes. Thank you for saving the world."
Lysinass's eyes widened as he looked at Leo.
Then he smiled brightly and stroked Leo's head.
"Oh dear. How admirable and cute."
Leo let out a small sigh at Lysinass's action of treating him like a child and stroking his head.
He wasn't pleased with such treatment, but decided to put up with it for now.
"I thought his personality might be bad, resembling some incompetent human with unpleasant eyes. But he's incredibly kind, isn't he?"
Some incompetent human with unpleasant eyes.
He knew who it was without having to ask.
'This damn lizard, should I just punch him?'
He momentarily felt a surge of anger but decided to hold it in.
Just then.
"Huh? Lysinass?"
Another familiar voice was heard from across the street.
'Luna.'
Leo looked at Luna.
"Who's that cute and handsome kid over there?"
Leo was now showing signs of being a young man, but he still had a youthful face.
"He says he's a friend of a kid named Kyle."
"Oh! You came from the future too!"
Luna smiled brightly and stepped closer.
And she mumbled as she looked Leo up and down.
"Hmm… everything's good, but his eyes resemble that idiot's. Ah, I wasn't talking about you, so don't be offended."
Luna patted Leo on the shoulder and smiled brightly.
'These damn things… Should I really just knock them out?'
It was when Leo was seriously thinking that.
"Are you taking him to Kyle's house too?"
"Yeah. But weren't you staying at Kyle's house today?"
"I was going to, but that damned guy kicked me out. Said there were too many people."
Luna grumbled.
"What about Bihart and Berkia?"
"At Kyle's house. Oh! An elf named Eiran also appeared."
"Were there no beastmen named Azonia and Ar?"
"Huh? There weren't any such kids."
Luna shook her head.
"Kids from the future keep coming to the past. This is getting serious."
"Maybe some time-traveling magic or something is being created in the future? It's not impossible in theory, is it!"
Luna's eyes sparkled brightly.
"Hey, hey. How did you come to the past? Oh, if there's anything forbidden to talk about, you don't have to say."
"I accidentally came to the past using an artifact left by the gods."
"Gods? Those incompetent guys made something like that too?"
Blatant disbelief appeared on Luna's face.
Recalling Luna's tendency to dislike gods, Leo nodded.
"If it's the gods… in a way, it might be possible. At least they're omnipotent."
"Hmph. Omnipotent, incompetent beings."
Luna replied sharply to Lysinass's words.
"Anyway, what's your name?"
"My name is Leo Plov."
"Hmm. Leo."
Luna grabbed Leo's shoulder with a serious expression.
"I'm just asking, in case… Is there any descendant of mine in the future?"
Leo looked at Luna's face.
"No. I don't know how far in the future you came from, but we defeated Erebus, right? So we must have become historical heroes. Then, well… I wonder if my descendants would still be around. And… if they are, I'm curious who my partner would be."
Luna said, rolling her eyes around.
At Luna's words, Leo noticed Lysinass's face clouding over.
Seeing that, Leo realized one fact.
'…You know.'
Lysinass knew the future of the Great Heroes.
'That's why he cried.'
How he found out was unknown.
'Lysinass might be able to figure it out from even a casually dropped clue.'
He wasn't called the King of Wisdom for nothing.
Leo hesitated, wondering what to say, then spoke.
"There are no records regarding descendants."
"Is that so? Hmm…"
"However, it's a famous fact whom Lady Luna loved."
"Wh-what?!"
Luna jumped in surprise.
Then she soon showed a slightly embarrassed expression.
"Is that so? How did it get out? No, more importantly, that guy knew my feelings?"
"Is that the person I know? If he was that idiot, he wouldn't have known until the very end, would he?"
"Hey. Lysinass. Idiot is too much."
"You also call him an idiot all the time."
"Hey. Not an idiot."
Luna's face softened into a smile.
Conversely, Lysinass's face clouded slightly.
'I didn't know Kyle would learn of Luna's feelings in the future. Did he confess at the end? Or did Kyle figure it out first? Did Kyle and Luna become "that kind of" couple before their final journey?'
His mind was in a turmoil.
"Oh. My. When did he figure it out?"
Leo thought as he looked at the anxious Lysinass and the happy Luna.
'They're having fun. The damn lizard and the pointy-eared one.'
"Lady Luna is known in the future to have loved the same person as Lysinass."
"Ah! That's… huh?"
A moment of doubt suddenly appeared on Luna's brightly smiling face.
Lysinass's face hardened.
Luna, racking her brain to understand Leo's words, put on a serious expression.
"I don't like that damn perverted dwarf."
"Then you mean I like that damn pervert?"
Lysinass retorted without realizing it.
"Ah, is it Arion, perhaps? Lysinass. Did you like Arion?"
Luna asked hopefully.
At that, Lysinass became speechless.
Suddenly.
Luna's eyes turned fierce.
"This… This! Lying lizard! You've been deceiving me all this time?!"
"Kya!" Luna shrieked and lunged at Lysinass.
Lysinass looked at Leo with resentful eyes.
"You said you didn't like him! You said you had no feelings!"
"Ah, no, I…!"
As Luna had often consulted with Lysinass about her feelings for Kyle, she couldn't help but feel betrayed.
"Liar! Swindler! Lizard! Sly fox!"
As Luna's accusations grew louder, Lysinass's patience finally snapped, and a vein pulsed on his forehead.
"Don't be ridiculous! Who are you calling a sly fox?! I liked him first!"
"This!"
Luna grabbed Lysinass by the hair.
Of course, Lysinass did not just stand there and take it.
Watching the two grabbing each other's hair, Leo muttered to himself.
'Serves them right. Calling others idiots and imbeciles.'
Leo, who had been quietly smirking maliciously, was suddenly flustered as the two's fight grew increasingly fierce.
'No, why are they fighting so violently?'
Finally, unable to watch any longer, Leo intervened.
"Both of you, calm down. Calm down!"
Of course, while trying to stop them, Leo also got grabbed by the hair.
In the end, Leo was only able to break them up after getting thoroughly messed up.
Leo, caught between the two people glaring at each other, panting, rubbed his eyes.
While stopping them, he had been hit in the eye by a punch from Luna.
"How could you do this to a kid!"
"Then you! Look at the blood flowing from his neck where you scratched him!"
Luna pointed at Leo's nape.
It was the price Leo paid for taking the attacks the two had inflicted on each other.
"Both of you, please calm down."
"So! Who did Kyle choose?!"
Luna asked, her eyes blazing.
Leo fell silent, then answered.
"That wasn't revealed."
"Ah! Seriously! That idiotic bastard! I can't stand it! I'm going to go and punch him or something!"
Lysinass grabbed Luna, who was huffing and glaring in the direction of Kyle's house.
"Wait."
"Why!"
"I'm first."
Watching the fiercely growling Lysinass, Leo thought.
'Let's just not reveal that I'm Kyle.'
He didn't know what kind of trouble he'd get into if he revealed it.
Leo thought so.
Meanwhile, Luna cast a healing spell on Leo.
Luna tilted her head as she looked at Leo, whose wounds were healed.
"Your name is Leo, right?"
"Yes."
"Do you have some kind of problem?"
"…?"
Leo looked at Luna with a bewildered expression.
Luna scratched her cheek as she looked at Leo.
"No. Among the guys I know, there's one who makes a similar face to yours when he has a problem. The atmosphere is similar, so… Is it not?"
At Luna's words, Leo unconsciously stroked his face.
'Was it that obvious?'
"Tell this unnie! I'll give you advice."
Was it because they thought his atmosphere was similar to Kyle's?
Lysinass and Luna felt a strange familiarity with Leo.
Looking at such Luna, Leo unconsciously burst into laughter.
"Then, could you give me some advice?"
"Lysinass! Why does he listen so well? His atmosphere is similar to Kyle's, but his actions are completely different! How cute!"
Luna vigorously stroked Leo's head.
Leo let out a wry laugh at her action.
"So? What's your problem?"
At Luna's question, Leo asked.
"I got a chance to change the past. But to change the past, I have to risk my comrades' lives. What would you do, Lady Luna?"
Luna blinked at Leo's question.
Then she smiled sweetly and said firmly.
"I wouldn't change it."
