Book 15 Chapter 10
Chapter 54
I, who had to endure insane hardships such as being on a wanted list, cross-dressing, and a fraudulent wedding, finally arrived at the Red Mountains' entrance, my primary destination.
January, 1104 A.D.
Imperial Border, Red Mountains (赤色山脈).
In fact, two days before arriving, the majestic red glow of the mountains filling the horizon was enough to make my mind reel.
“Hmm, is that the [strongest] of the mountain ranges? The strongest, be it living or inanimate, seems to have its own unique aura.”
Perhaps because of the abundant spiritual energy, or spirits, Sbal's energetic butt-wiggling dance was quite irritating.
“Gyugyung, gyugyung, gyugyung~!”
As I gazed at the mountain range over the brim of my straw hat, Leesta spoke.
“Every time I come here, I feel the air in the Red Mountains is incredibly clean, almost too clean. It's like just breathing burns away all the bad things clumped up in your lungs and blood vessels, you know? So, Friede, how much further do we have to go now?”
“We're not crossing the border, but going to <Ikegrade>, so we have to climb the mountain for at least three days from here.”
“We have to climb those stairs? Dude, it's so incredibly high up, I can't even see the end.”
In response to my question, Friede gave an evil smile.
“All of this was prepared just for you. It's a blood feud, you see.”
“I don't know what you're trying to get revenge for, but forgetting the 'grace' of the special crow eyeball-seasoned skewers in just three days… I wonder if you have a bad memory or if you're just ungrateful.”
“Hey, you fu— Do you want to die?! That wasn't!! Grace!!! It was torture!!!! Because of that!!!!! You and I are now enemies stained with hatred!!!!!!!!”
