Book 16 Chapter 42
Episode 96
"To leave that guy alone, no matter how urgent the situation is, isn't that too much of an act!"
Niels protested.
Rista gave a wry smile.
"I, too, don't do things like leaving a comrade alone unless the situation truly calls for it."
"But why? You're underestimating Greta Visor too much! Now, after the [King's Flesh] incident, she's able to utilize all ancient technologies!"
"If you ask that, there's only one answer I can give you. Because I trust her."
A loud explosion began to be heard from behind. The vibrations were so strong that they could be felt through the hole in the bulkhead, meaning the danger of the battle could be perceived without even having to consider it.
"Actually, when I was first introduced to Lin, it was just a courtesy visit… because taking a thirteen-year-old to the battlefield is absurd."
"……!"
"But I knew the moment I first saw her. Just by looking at the quality and quantity of her magic, that she was stronger than any mage I had ever met. I even felt that I couldn't have anyone else but Lin as the mage in my hero party."
Hearing those words, Niels recalled his first meeting with Lin.
Niels also judged that although Lin's appearance was merely that of a rookie, her spirit and momentum were first-class, which was why he recommended her for the Svarlag subjugation.
The reason he later learned was also incredibly pure: wasn't it to buy clothes for her classmates?
"Lin is strong. Right now, she doesn't know what it truly means to be strong, so she doesn't quite know how to use that power… but someday, when both her body and mind mature, the world might change."
