Book 7 Chapter 17
In-depth study on how to attract women's attention
"Hoo!"
BIRYUYON sighed with a tormented face.
"Hoo!"
He alternated between looking at the moon and stars, as if burdened by great worries.
"What should I do?"
"What do you mean?"
Yeomdo felt uneasy watching his unusually serious face. It was completely unlike his usual self.
Yeomdo even harbored the raw and violent thought that it would be better to pluck out his own eyeballs than to witness Baryuyon's torment. If he had worries, it was more comfortable to be by his side if they were heard quickly and resolved promptly.
If he were to do something absurd again, it would only put him in trouble.
"What should I do to advance my relationship with women?"
"Huh?"
The moment he heard Baryuyon's words, the tension in his shoulders completely dissipated. He wondered why Baryuyon was lost in thought with such a tormented face, only to find out it was just a question about dating methods!
Yeomdo felt a strong sense of having been ripped off.
'Why did I ever worry about this person…'
It was his clear and undeniable mistake. He had momentarily forgotten that there are people in this world who don't need anyone's concern, and people who are not even worth worrying about.
Asking Yeomdo, who was a blank slate when it came to dating, or like an empty jar during a drought, about dating was a mistake in itself. Everyone has their own specialized field where they have developed their unique skills. When considered in this way, dating was Yeomdo's most vulnerable area.
"Well, I don't know. Wouldn't it be enough to evoke pity?"
Yeomdo spoke with unconfirmed knowledge he had overheard somewhere, on a topic he wasn't sure about.
"Pity? What's that?"
Baryuyon asked back with a strange expression he hadn't seen before.
"What do you mean 'what is it'! It's an expression of compassion, the feeling of sympathy that arises when you see the weak!"
"Does such a feeling really exist?"
"Huh?"
Yeomdo looked at Baryuyon with an expression that strongly suggested "What kind of nonsense is that?"
"Don't you just laugh at the weak?"
He had a very curious expression. Yeomdo, stunned, just stared blankly at Baryuyon.
'Is he being serious?'
It was a question that needed to be considered at least once.
"My master definitely told me that…"
Baryuyon still couldn't shake off his bewildered expression.
"Hmm… evoking pity… How do I do that?"
"First, you have to be weak!"
Yeomdo replied curtly.
"That's a difficult command!"
The need to be weak seemed like an extremely difficult command for him.
"What exactly is the concept of being weak?"
Baryuyon asked earnestly.
"Hmm! That's a difficult question to answer."
In fact, Yeomdo, who was far from weak, couldn't explain exactly what it felt like.
Like enlightened monks grasping a koan, they both fell into contemplation.
"Should I try it?"
Yeomdo trembled at Baryuyon's faint soliloquy. That was the exact look he had when he had a dangerous and absurd idea.
'Oh… no!'
Yeomdo screamed inwardly. A silent scream tore his heart and shook his mind frantically.
Baryuyon's form receded from him like an unattainable illusion. I have to catch him! I have to stop him! I have to prevent it! Reason screamed and emotion boiled fiercely, but his body wouldn't move. One nightmare was enough. Two was too much. Baryuyon's body moved further and further away. Why couldn't I grab him when I could reach out and grab him!
Yeomdo suddenly felt like crying. He was terrified by the fact that he couldn't predict when or where anything would happen.
And the next day, as Baryuyon had predicted, it became the busiest day of that summer.
